Oh 2018... I welcomed you with open arms. Then, yesterday, you betrayed me. All of my excitement melted away as I reviewed how I had done with my business goals in 2017. I did a LOT in 2017- just not all I wanted to. I was chatting with my SIL and she asked what I was doing. I replied "Business breakdown." She asked if I was breaking down a plan or breaking down in general. "One causes the other." 
     If you're like me and anxiety got the better of you for a minute while you were working on 2018. Never fear. Process' are here to save you ;) So boring-right? Working consistently with systems in mind is the ANSWER to ALL of your goals. For example: Wanting to lose weight? The process of eating better is the answer. If you weigh more tomorrow than you did today (weight fluctuates people!) you don't give up on that process! Find your success in that 8 out of 10 meals you hit your goal then the scale will not deter you. And, if you are legitimately eating better, you will see success. Working on booking parties for your business? Your process is asking 10 people per week- If you hit your goal- WELL DONE! How many parties did you book? Well, more than you would have! See the difference?
     Of course, results ONLY come from GOOD process' and systems. Be cautious which ones you choose. Focus on what will bring the MAXIMUM result. For me, it's usually the things that are hardest. Welcome to owning a business. Welcome to LIFE!.

Goals. I have been thinking a lot about how I want to approach 2018. As I thought over the past few years, how much I've grown and what has attributed to that, I came up with 3 ways to think of goal setting that have worked for me in the past and have been the most effective! I would love to hear how YOU set your goals! 

Listen here, I'm gonna own it and say that I work in an industry with a stigma. Some people RUN from direct sales as quickly as possible. I know why... here are just a few reasons.

• Some companies are NOT consultant friendly, insisting on auto-ships, high minimums or HUGE investments to get going. They require on-hand inventory that feels the garage and gets overwhelming rather than getting sold!
• Since we depend on our friends and families to help get us started (listen here... nearly ALL small business do) people feel pressured to buy. I will way though it is QUITE the double standard when friends bend over backwards to help a friend's brick and mortar starter store, but are unwilling to even look at a product you have.
• I'm going to be honest here... a LOT of times, it's us. The consultant. WE are responsible for people's' experiences with business' like ours.
• I also believe that scarcity mindset has a LOT to do with it. We become desperate to make the sale. Desperate to get someone on our team and we REALLY need to shift that mindset to ABUNDANCE. 
• People DON'T work their business' like a REAL business! Everybody starts one and nobody finishes! Of course, there are always reasons to quit a job and move on, but, be sure you're thinking about how inconsistency affects the way people view you as a business owner!

I chat about a few specifics here and a bit about what has me thinking about all this jazz in the following video. Let's ALL do it right ladies. For each other, For our families. For ourselves. AND, for our industry! 

     When you are looking for influencers for your product/brand, you need to look for high"I" people. I call them Queen Bees. The person you are looking for (you know who I'm talking about) she is the leader, the one who is connected, when she buys something, everyone looks and starts to buy as well.      Want to hear something hard?? Wanting to network and MEET PEOPLE... for your business, but also for YOURSELF, when you only have 1 month in an area!!!!  When I meet a mom, I want to say "Hey! Let's do a play date... I know you aren't sure if you know me, or even like me, but I have 1 month that I need you to be my best friend.... and your kids need to be my kids' best friends..." AWKWARD. I am learning to dig in and get to know people. It's pretty much CRAZY. 
     I looked high and low for small, get-togethers and found this business in a bag networking event. I signed immediately. Nikki, the co-ordinator was AWESOME. Her whole job is networking and gathering people. I asked her too many questions and as a result, I was top-of-mind when the spotlight vendor was unable to attend so she asked me!
     The spotlight vendor has about 10 min to chat about products and to share about "The Biz" for a few minutes. I decided to use a team training training I had done for my team another time about things that I have learned after 6 YEARS OF DOING POSH! Sticking with a business like this for that long sometimes feels like an accomplishment in and of itself, but, I LOVE MY BUSINESS and what it has done for my family, and for ME! 

     I DID do a training, but you know what? I freakin' LEARNED. I was encouraged and it was so much fun to see the passion, goals and dreams of these other women around me. You know... people get confused and think that these women are my competition...when really, they are my INSPIRATION! Thank you so much ladies for the experience.      Deciding what to take for your business on an 8 month trip is harrowing. I swear I have lost SO much sleep over this stupid decision. Here is what I have it narrowed down to, but now that I'm 1 week in be watching for a change in what I'm going to be hauling from here on out. I have 3 events scheduled for November and will be shipping some inventory product to our location in Texas so I have stuff to sell.
     This is a VERY stressful point for me because we live on my Posh income right now. But, with this post I want to show people that #1- You don't have to have a HUGE inventory and office to run a successful business and #2- This business really is about flexibility! You CAN work it your way as long as you just WORK it! #werkitgirl! ;)
