Photos really are heavy. Not only physically heavy, but they carry a lot of sentimentality to them so they are emotionally heavy as well. So what do you do when you're trying to get rid of everything you own. Well you sell most things - but what about photos? Two words. DIGITAL REVOLUTION.
We've moved 13 times in our extensive 15 year marriage. That's a whole lot of hauling heavy picture albums around. The crazy thing is we never look at any of them. We move them to our new house and immediately store them in a closet somewhere with good intentions of looking at them. This time is different. And guess what we looked at them too. That's how I found these beauties. And there's are a whole lot more 90's awesome where these came from. I think my favorite is that first one - the selfie before selfie was a word. Plus I'm on a phone while doing it, just not the kind of phone that takes selfies. How great is that? Side note the date is on the pic too. 4/13/1997 - my 17th birthday. Or the time I shaved my head and left long bangs. Pretty sure that was a style for a minute. And finally freshmen year of college and that old 1800's house we rented. No regrets, it was awesome. We are in the process of scanning it all. It's been so fun seeing all these old pictures. Plus, now every time I open Google Photos I can look at all of the different Albums we have now. I love it. I don't know why we didn't do this years ago. Everything is super easily visible and we don't have those heavy photo albums to lug around. Win Win. Here's how we're doing it. It was a bit spendy, but it works fast and efficient. Scanner we purchased from Amazon Now the only issue we have is the heavy garbage cans full of all those photos.
